Hot Days, Reading Slumps, and Rained-Out Plans
Hey Book Blogger Friends! Happy Sunday! How was your week?
Early this week we hit our first high 80s with 90+ degree heat index days. Usually I love hot days but without air conditioning it was pretty uncomfortable. Now it’s back to low humidity and lower temps.
For reading I’ve had a couple really great audiobook listens but I’m striking out on physical, eBook, and ARC reads. I feel like I’m looking for a specific type of book and I’m unable to find it except in the audiobooks I’ve been choosing.
Rain swept in midweek to drop the temps – and ruin my plans of going out exploring. I’ve had to move my plans to explore a shipwreck that is permanently washed ashore, some supposedly haunted caves, and a super unique coffee shop until this coming week. I’m still trying to get out and hike today as long as the trail isn’t too muddy.

As much as I love summer and the warm weather it brings, I am love it because of my AC. I feel for you. Hope you have a working AC soon.

I agree, I always say I love hot weather but when I’m traveling my hotel has AC, we don’t have AC at home because we can’t afford it so we unfortunately have to make due.

Haunted caves and a coffee shop. Too bad the rain spoiled your outing. Have a good/better week.

I keep meaning to read A Fragile Enchantment. Hope we both enjoy, heh!

Ooh, good luck with One Dark Window! It was an okay read for me, but I’m glad I continued bc the sequel was AMAZING and is one of my favorite reads of the year so far. ❤ A Fragile Enchantment was a bit of a disappointment for me, but I loved A Far Wilder Magic by this author!

I loved The Hunting Party. I have Midnight Feast for Christmas 😂
We have had a mix of weathers. Not too hot at the moment which I like.
Have a great weekend!

It’s the start of hot here through August but we do have AC. I’m surprised how nice it is outside when it is in the 90s but the humidity is low, though. I’m outside with the dogs every day. I have enjoyed Lucy Foley’s books.

I’m the opposite of you – I keep trying to listen to audio books and nothing is working for me. I much prefer my ebooks.
I’m sorry about the rain. We’ve been getting some of that but it’s getting better here as far as the rain goes. Still hot and humid though.
Hope you have a great week!

Exploring a shipwreck sounds cool! I hope you can get out soon, and that your AC gets fixed.
